David Cheney began working for several family businesses before starting his international career with a multinational construction materials firm. David advanced to leadership of the HR function of its $2B, 3500 employee product line in North America and was subsequently promoted to President of a $50M industrial services subsidiary in the waste and renewables sector.

Results-oriented leader with high business acumen, David is able to transition seamlessly between business, operations, and HR strategy to optimize organizational performance. David’s diverse background includes work in multiple countries, on many product lines, with multiple functions. A strategic and trusted coach and mentor, David is an excellent communicator able to build cohesive and productive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

David has a Bachelor of Business Administration (majors in Finance & Economics) from Acadia University, graduate course work at Queen’s University (Industrial Relations), and continuing education at Duke (Business Leadership), University of Michigan (Advanced HR Executive Program), the Center for Creative Leadership (Leadership at the Peak), Wharton (Creating & Implementing Strategy for Competitive Advantage), and Insead (Lafarge BUILD). SHRM-SCP certified.

In his spare time, David mentors aspiring entrepreneurs as a SCORE volunteer as well as young students through Marathon Scholars. He moved with his wife, Dawn, to Oregon in 2016 to reunite family, and experience the state’s fantastic food, fishing and hiking possibilities.
